About Us

Fit and Fluffy Spa is new to the Marysville area but the owners are not. Our love of animals has us involved in as many animal related activities as possible. Our goal is to provide a calm, stress free environment for every client in our care.

Meet the Owners

Diane Spires

Diane Spires has been in the pet care business since 2005 when she co-founded a resort in Marysville. Taking care of animals has always been a passion of hers. She has a Bachelor of Science/Marketing degree and has lived in this area most of her life. She is currently pursuing her Level 1 Canine Massage course as well as Level 1 Feline Massage through Integrated Touch Therapy in Circleville, Ohio.

In 2005, she became a volunteer with Team Greyhound Adoption of Ohio and in December of 2011 she was elected to their Board of Directors. She has a greyhound who was adopted from Team Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, a three legged Italian Greyhound that was rescued from a bad home, and two cats which were also rescues.

She is also active with the Heart of Ohio Blue Star Mothers. Her son Josh Spires is a Sergeant in the United States Army so her other passion is helping our military personnel any way she can.

Jeanette Jurrens

Jeanette Jurrens has been in the pet care business most of her life. She is a groomer with over 20 years of experience. In 2002, she and her daughter, Tera, started raising puppies for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).  Since 2007, she has been a kennel supervisor and a groomer at a vet clinic in the Columbus, Ohio area and a part time groomer at a resort in Marysville. She has completed Level 1 and 2 of Canine Water Therapy and Level 1 Canine Massage.

Jeanette also has an interest in Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Before moving to Ohio Jeanette was the County 4H obedience instructor for 5 years in Iowa.
